THEEWATERS BASS CLASSIC
The Theewaters Bass Classic hosted by the Tafelberg Bass Masters took place this past weekend (24 & 25 January) at the Theewater Sports Club. The event was well sponsored with AWH Motor, ITS Computor Systems and Pope alarms as the main sponsors.
Bass anglers flew in from all over South Africa to participate in this event which was an amazing success with 45 entries. The anglers set off at 06h30 in the mornings and brought in their catch to the weigh-in station. (see photo). The wind came up late Saturday afternoon and it was a perfect windless, blistering hot day on Sunday. The Bass anglers camped at the Theewater Sports Club and the prize giving was held on Sunday at 14h00.
One of the youngest competitors, Andy de Jager, brought in the biggest catch of the day on Sunday, with a weight of 3.39kg. (See photo)
Congratulations to the winning team: Armand van der Harst and Dean Searl on their boat 'Ugly Otters' who brought in a total weight of 9.45kg and 4 bonus points for bringing in live fish. The first prize was R10 000.00 and various Bass angling accessories.
